Samuel López-Lago is a multi-faceted creative, artist and designer. 



Samuel López-Lago (Mérida, España, 1991) is an European Commission Official currently working as Team Leader for Knowledge Management and Collab tools Solutions at DG REGIO. Through his multidisciplinary career, he explored several areas of different disciplines, including design, arts (mainly digital/generative art, sculpture and ceramics), business and technology. He holds a Master Certificate in Systems Design from Cornell University and a Professional Education Certificate in Digital Transformation/Design Strategy from Massachusetts Institute of Technology (full resumé). In Samuel’s works we can glimpse references to movements as diverse as minimalist, primitive or abstract art, which establish a constant dialogue with the culture of our times under an optics influenced by new media.

Among his recognitions, we can highlight being a finalist in the National Prize of Crafts of Spain (2016), being part of the selected artwork for the store of the Museo Nacional Centro de Arte Reina Sofía (2018), being part of the selected artists for the “Mostra Espanha” of the Ministry of Culture and Sports of Spain, and being a featured artist in the Spanish Pavilion of the World Expo of Dubai (2022).

He also had art exhibitions in countries such as United States or United Kingdom and wrote five books with Experimenta Editorial: “Vademécum de Métodos de Diseño”, a concise compendium about design methods and practice, “Clayfulness”, a practical book in the intersection of meditation and the work with clay, and “ABCDiseño”, “Historia de una silla” and “Galería de lo imposible” tales for kids based on design and creativity. 

He also explored musical creation with “Camino” and “Ánima Matérica”.
